The Turkish Research-based fully-funded Scholarships also known as Turkish Success Scholarships for 2023 are open for online applications in 2022 for all international students who wish to pursue their higher studies for free in Turkey.
Turkish universities and colleges offer programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. levels. The universities in Turkey use teaching methods that are contemporary and the faculty practices innovative methods to impart wisdom and knowledge. A handful of students from international countries will be granted a scholarship to study and reside in Turkey as part of the Success Scholarship Program.
The Success Scholarships 2023 is being offered by the Turkish Government. These Turkey scholarships are very generous and that is why these are very competitive as well.
The Success Scholarships of Turkey place its recipients in one of the top 50 universities in Turkey. Along with supporting the student’s financial and personal expenses, this scholarship aims at giving the grantees a year-long preparatory course in the Turkish language. The purpose is to make the students feel more and more connected with Turkey, its language, and its culture.
Turkey Success Scholarship Academic Benefits:
The students at the bachelor’s level will get admission to one of the top universities of Turkey, a tuition fee waiver, a monthly allowance of 800 TL, medical insurance, airfare, accommodation, and admission in a one-year Turkish language program.
The benefits available to post-graduate students are almost the same. The difference is only the monthly stipend which is 1100 TL for masters and 1600 TL for Ph.D. students. The maximum duration for the funding is 6 years for undergrads, 2 years for master’s level students, and 4 years for doctoral candidates.
Other short-term programs only offer a monthly stipend and do not cover the grantees for accommodation and tuition fees.
The language and cultural programs offer a monthly allowance of 2,000 TL along with housing support and airfare reimbursement.
As part of this Turkish fully-funded scholarship, students will be able to become a part of productive and informative workshops, seminars, conferences, social and cultural gatherings. There are internships available as well which the students can take up to further advance their knowledge and practical skills.
Courses Offered by Turkey Success Scholarships 2023:
There are different programs offered for students at all levels of study. Some of the courses are full-time programs while others are short-term courses that come under the umbrella of Turkey Government Scholarships.
- Full-time Programs:
These are bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in the fields of engineering, humanities, social sciences, and health sciences. Most bachelor’s programs are of four years so students cannot get a two-year associate degree out of any program. Please check out the scholarship’s website to understand which university is offering the programs of your interest.
Postgraduate programs for master’s and Ph.D. are also offered in almost all the fields apart from health sciences. Students interested in studying fine arts from Turkey can apply for Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts. There are bachelor’s and master’s programs available in the subject areas of music technologies, voice education, instrument education, music theories, and musicology. The Doctoral program is only available in the subject area of music sciences.
- Part-time Programs:
As part of the Success Scholarship Program, the government of Turkey is offering two types of part-time programs. The first one is for the students who are already studying in one of the Turkish universities. They can enroll in the part-time programs for a year and will be entitled to a monthly stipend.
The other scholarship is the Research Scholarship which is for a period of 3 months to a year. This allows researchers from all over the world to come to Turkey and engage in collaborative research with Turkish researchers. This way their local researchers will be able to expand their knowledge base and horizons and it will help make the cultural bonds and friendships between the researchers of various countries stronger.
- Some other Programs:
There are some other programs that are short-term and are directed toward, researchers, diplomats, and public representatives as well. Some programs are only for students from Yemen and Syria and are funded by international organizations and NGOs.
Eligibility Criteria for Turkey Success Scholarships:
Students applying for undergraduate programs should have an academic result of at least 70% in their high schools. Applicants at the master’s and doctoral levels should have an academic standing of at least 75%. The criteria get tougher for students belonging to the fields of medicine, pharmacy, or dentistry, for which they have to have an academic result of at least 90%.
The bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. applicants should be less than 21, 30, and 35 years in age respectively. Students from all over the world can apply. The scholarships are not for Turkish citizens even if they lost their Turkish citizenship in the past.
Process to Apply for Turkey Success Scholarships:
Applicants can fill out the application form available at the Success Scholarship website (Link given at the end of article) after making their account on the online portal. They should fill out the form after reading all the instructions carefully. Applicants have to upload the scanned copies of their documents at this stage and not send it to Turkey via courier. Applicants have to select 12 universities according to their preferences. There is no application fee so the applicants are advised to stay away from scammers who ask for an application fee from them. Such scammers are not related to the Success Scholarship.
Students may have to submit scores of IELTS, TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, etc. to prove their language proficiency and aptitude. All the grantees have to take a year-long Turkish language course even if they are placed in an English-taught program.
